Hasam Jawaid

Hi I'm Hasam, a 4th year medic at Leeds and a bachelor in medical education, keen to start tutoring you!

I'm currently in my 4th year of medical school at the University of Leeds, having done an intercalated degree in medical education also. At A-Level I did biology, maths and psychology. My style of tutoring is very much gauging my students and seeing how confident they are in a subject/topic, and building my style around them to fit their specific learning style, whether this be by explanations, visual graphs and diagrams, or activities that encourage learning. I will always try to push my students to get to the answer themselves, with a helping hand always there. I use active recall a lot with my students, so they build these important learning techniques and make connections early on.

Hobbies and Interests: I'm a very active person, so outside of my medical commitments, I like to play American football for my university and also do martial arts and go to the gym in my free time! Just like a lot of people, I'm a big foodie and so I love trying new places to eat when I'm not in the hospital or in the gym. Everyone has their lazy hobby, and mine is playing video games!
